Echomaster Marine engineers have recently completed the installation of the latest vessel from Anderson Marine, the Carol Ann PD175.
The Kingfisher K20 was built for local Peterhead fisherman Jimmy Anderson and has been fitted with a cat catcher and mackerel jigging equipment and has been fishing successfully during this mackerel season.
The full electronics package was supplied and installed by Echomaster Marine.
A Simrad NSO was teamed with the Simrad 4G Radome to provide a high performance radar. As a multi function unit the NSO also provides GPS position and has the added benefit of ensuring a back up chartplotter is always available.
The primary charplotter is the successful and very popular Olex 3D Seabed Mapping Charplotter system.
Echosounding functions come from the Hondex HE-7300Di 10.4" Echosounder.
Also installed was the latest generation of Simrad autopilot the AP70. The AP70 control unit comes in a robust aluminium housing, and is designed with performance in mind. The AP70 pilot system has been interfaced to the Olex to provide nav functions on the chartplotter.
An AMEC AIS Transponder was also supplied and installed.
A Suzuki S-1800 Sonar and Comnav GPS Heading Sensor provided by the owner were installed and commissioned by the Echomaster engineers.
Seatrials were performed and a good all round performance was reported all all equipment.
Everyone at Echomaster Marine would like to wish Jimmy Anderson the very best of luck and Good Fishing on the Carol Ann.
Thank you to David Linkie for the images of the Carol Ann.
