Engineers Les Smith and Ian Butcher completed the installation of the comprehensive electronics package for Richard Scott of RS Marine Charters.
With the assistance of Arlene Hardacre in our sales department Richard agreed a full suite of electronic equipment for his new build Alert III. The vessel was build by Catapult Catamarans, she then arrived in Aberdeen for the interfacing and commissioning of the electronics.
The Alert III has the Simrad NSO Package complete with 17" Glass Fronted LCD Display and Simrad 4G Radar. The expandability of the Simrad NSO was further enhanced with the addition of the BSM2 Broadband Sounder module. Richard also chose one of the latest Low/High Frequency Chirp transducesr, thereby giving him full performance from his Echosounder.
The superb Simrad AP70 colour autopilot was also supplied with a reversible pump and S35 non-follow up steering lever. A Sonic Hub Marine Entertainment System was provided to allow Richard to connect directly to his ipod or iphone to access his music collection or can listen to the inbuilt AM/FM radio.
Chartplotting functions were served via a new Sodena system and the customer's existing Olex 3D Seabed Mapping System.
The vessel then completed her return home to Shetland where Les carried out comprehensive sea trials of the equipment. He also provided full training to Richard on the package we supplied.
