Simrad ST90 and MF90 Sonar Installation

Our team recently completed a successful project to upgrade a vessel’s sonar capability. The job involved removing the Simrad SX93 Sonar and installing two brand-new systems, Simrad ST93 and MF90, giving the crew access to the very latest in sonar technology.

The Simrad ST90 is a long-range 14-24 kHz fish-finding omnidirectional sonar with 360 degrees coverage. By contrast the Simrad MF90 is a medium-frequency 360-degrees omni-sonar developed for efficient fish-finding. By means of a highly efficient composite transducer and high-end transceiver electronics you can transmit and receive in the frequency range of 75 to 85 kHz.

The work was carefully planned and carried out with minimal disruption to the vessel’s schedule. Once the old system was removed, our engineers prepared the areas for installation and ensured everything was set up for a smooth handover. The two new sonars were fitted and brought online , with testing confirming excellent performance right from the start.

The vessel now benefits from enhanced awareness and reliability at sea, and the owners are delighted with the results. The project was completed on time, to a high standard, and signed off by a very satisfied customer.
